Why this matters
Give every surveyed door a unique identifier and use it consistently in photographs, measurements and drawings. Without this, information from similar doors is easily mixed.
What to confirm
Photograph the full door from both sides, the edge, frame, lock area, strike, hinges, closer, surrounding hardware and cable route. Write down dimensions; a tape measure appearing in a photograph is not enough.
A practical working method
Check whether the door is healthy before designing the retrofit. Sagging, distortion, damaged frames or excessive closing force may need correction independently of the new lock.
Records, acceptance and handover
For electromechanical work, record power, cable, controller and commissioning conditions. Have both hardware and control-system personnel review the survey, then test the most uncertain door first.
